TADA

Founded in 2012 in Brussels, TADA (ToekomstATELIERdelAvenir) is a non-profit organization that targets children from disadvantaged neighborhoods and offers complementary education focused on motivation and social orientation. The young people attend practical workshops every week for three years, run on a voluntary basis by passionate professionals. Thanks to these interactions, children can explore different professions and develop their professional future.

Today, TADA supports more than 1,800 young people and stimulates its participants to:

  • broaden their (future) perspectives
  • become motivated, resilient individuals with self-knowledge and self-esteem
  • develop their horizontal or life skills
  • deepen their knowledge of and connection with the society they live in.

In Belgium, particularly in Brussels, educational inequalities are very significant. More than elsewhere in Europe, young people from a disadvantaged background and/or from an immigrant background are more likely to repeat a year or drop out of school prematurely. TADA aims to break the pattern that induces “high probability of few opportunities” through supplementary education on weekends. Children learn at home and at school, but can also find inspiration, motivation and knowledge elsewhere.

“With its approach, TADA arms its young participants against demotivation and encourages them to flourish as enterprising, confident and resilient individuals, with serious knowledge and horizontal skills.”

Semlex For Education will offer Semlex employees the opportunity to participate in these TADA workshops.
