At a time when resources are running out and global warming is causing more and more meteorological disasters all over the world, it is now impossible not to address the theme of respect for the environment at the school. It is more essential than ever that children learn to respect the environment at school, from an early age. They are part of the next generation and are therefore the most affected by this phenomenon. Let’s help them to become men and women sensitive to respect for the environment!

We have all heard this phrase before: “Truth comes from the mouths of children. “Why not use it? Children are hard to convince but once convinced, they only have this idea in mind. They are able to understand the importance of nature around us. Once they have understood this issue, they will no longer let anyone around them throw waste on the ground.

Courses devoted to respect for the environment

A course devoted to respecting the environment is as important as a course in mathematics, science, geography, languages or even gymnastics. Even if those involved in education pay particular attention to respecting the environment within schools (e.g. not throwing waste in the playground), this is not enough to save our planet. Educating students in ecology and respect for the environment through a weekly or monthly course would already be a big step forward.

Gestures within the reach of children

Thanks to this awareness in schools, children will be able to help fight against global warming. Here are a few things kids can do:

  • Sort wastes and recycle when possible;
  • Save energy by turning off the light when leaving a room;
  • Prioritize public transport or soft mobility;
  • Save water by turning off the tap while soaping your hands or brushing your teeth, and preferring the shower to the bath.

Environmental awareness is not only for adults, children also have a role to play. Every little bit counts when it comes to saving our planet.
