Founded in 2016 as a pilot project at the initiative of the Maison de l’Emploi d’Uccle, Team4Job is a nonprofit that advocates for equal employment opportunities. Supported by Semlex For Education, this non-profit organization offers a 6-month mentoring program. This mentoring program puts a job seeker (mentee) in contact with a professionally active person (mentor). Its main objective is to boost the job search of the mentee.

Supervised by a member of the Team4Job team, this pair meets twice a month at the mentor’s workplace. The mentor can share his or her experience, knowledge of the job market and network. During these six months, Team4Job organizes workshops and networking events to support the personal development of the pair, to facilitate the sharing of experience, to share basic coaching tools and to explain the issues of the job market to the mentors.

Today, Team4Job has 550 committed mentors, 1,000 pairs and 65% of positive outcomes within six months.

To participate in this mentorship as a mentee, conditions must be met:

  • Be registered as a job seeker;
  • To live in one of the Brussels communes;
  • Speak French, Dutch or English;
  • Have a defined professional project;
  • Be actively looking for a job;
  • Be motivated by mentoring.

As a mentor, you must:

  • Be professionally active (since min. 2 years);
  • Be a volunteer;
  • Be willing to share your knowledge and experience;
  • Be good at listening, have empathy, and be open to introspection;
  • Be convinced of the positive impact of mentoring.
