Recently, Semlex For Education demonstrated its commitment to the environment and public health by sponsoring and partnering with the “Coastal Cleanup of Mutsamudu Bay” operation, which took place on February 12, 2023. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with Semlex‘s subsidiary in the Comoros, raised awareness about the importance of environmental preservation while contributing to the cleanliness of the bay.
A step towards a cleaner city
Semlex For Education’s contribution did not stop at the coastal cleanup operation. Aware of the issues related to waste management, the foundation took additional measures to support the city of Mutsamudu by funding a garbage truck. This initiative aims to facilitate waste collection and proper disposal, thereby helping maintain a healthy environment for the residents of Mutsamudu.
A significant handover ceremony
To celebrate this meaningful gesture, a garbage truck handover ceremony was organized on April 27, 2023, at the Mutsamudu City Hall. During the ceremony, speeches emphasized the importance of collaboration between public entities, philanthropic organizations, and private companies in addressing environmental issues and improving the quality of life for communities.
Positive impact on the community
The support provided by Semlex For Education and Semlex Comores in waste management in Mutsamudu has already begun to yield results. The garbage truck funded by the foundation facilitates regular waste collection in the city, thereby reducing health risks and contributing to the preservation of the coastal environment.
