Semlex For Education is proud to announce a new partnership with the World Solidarity Association for the Underprivileged and Detainees (SMPDD) through its Home for Children in Difficulty (MAED) in Lomé, Togo. This partnership marks an important milestone in our mission to support vulnerable youth and provide them with educational and social opportunities.

A Home Dedicated to Child Protection and Reintegration

Officially inaugurated on January 30, 2024, MAED’s mission is to offer a protective and supportive environment for children in difficulty. Its mission is threefold:

  1. Child protection, by ensuring a safe environment for vulnerable children;
  2. Juvenile delinquency prevention, through awareness and education;
  3. Child reintegration, by facilitating their return to society through placements in foster families and tailored support programs.

MAED’s Actions: A Strong Social Commitment

MAED takes in children from challenging backgrounds: those in conflict with the law, in police custody, victims of the consequences of divorce, or abandoned children. It offers these young individuals a transitional period of three months or more, depending on their specific needs. During this time, each child receives personalized support, including an educational and social program designed to facilitate their reintegration.

The partnership with Semlex For Education fits perfectly within this dynamic. Together, we will strengthen MAED’s efforts by providing educational support and assistance with vocational training for the children in care. This partnership will also help raise awareness among foster families and children about the importance of citizenship and the consequences of juvenile delinquency.

A Lasting Impact for Children in Difficulty

Through this collaboration, Semlex For Education is committed to supporting MAED in its mission to reintegrate children into families that meet their needs, while providing them with essential tools to successfully reintegrate, both personally and academically. By contributing to the education and training of these young individuals, we aim not only to prevent delinquency but also to open up new opportunities for previously marginalized children.

This partnership symbolizes the shared commitment of Semlex For Education and MAED to a brighter future, where every child in difficulty has the chance to thrive and find a rightful place in society.
